Merge Employees?
#1
Is there a way to merge employees?  We occasionally find duplicate staff due to name changes or maybe a random problem with integration.

I know that there is a way to merge inventory items so I'm hoping I'm just missing the wizard for this.  Otherwise, is there a sql script that could handle this for us?

Thanks,

Hello,

I do it manually :

update recipient
update sd_request set recipient_id=(select employee_id from am_employee where identification='New') where recipient_id=(select employee_id from am_employee where identification='Old');

update requestor
update sd_request set requestor_id=(select employee_id from am_employee where identification='New') where requestor_id=(select employee_id from am_employee where identification='Old');

update done_by_id
update am_action set done_by_id=(select employee_id from am_employee where identification='New') where done_by_id=(select employee_id from am_employee where identification='Old');

update am_asset
update am_asset set employee_id=(select employee_id from am_employee where identification='New') where employee_id=(select employee_id from am_employee where identification='Old');

archived am_employee
update am_employee set end_of_contract=getutcdate() where identification='Old';

Yeah, I thought about doing that as well--just making sure I wasn't missing anything. Thanks
